My health plan is designed for news professionals, many of whom work in radio and TV. I don't know any on-air radio or TV people who give out their street addresses. Despite this, the stupid insurance company is insisting on a street address.

I just gave the post office's street address. I hope they take it.

I have to wonder at the logic of these "rules are rules, no exceptions" policies that some companies have. I can see them needing the street address if they need to send an ambulance to your place, or shipping something via courier such as UPS, but if all they're going to do is to send you stuff in the mail, then darn it, a PO box should be sufficient.

I have a friend who travels frequently on business, so he has a post office box. In front of his house is a wooden post for a mailbox, but unlike the rest of the posts on the block, there's no mailbox on it. Some well-meaning but ill-informed letter carriers have taken to putting mail address to him, thumbtacked to the post.
