I could have perhaps sent something more appropriate, but I didn't want to spend more time on it.

Meanwhile, I've been spending hours on Warren's mother's birthday gift, but unlike my brother, his mother cares about my well-being.

Ah! Good choice. Says nothing except that it's his birthday, and nags him to remember your dad's Yarhzeit candle. Very clever!
