Re: Borders -- ISOLATED Closing. They sent a follow up for the email list that it's a single store in Sacto that is closing. My guess: Lease is up.

No, that's merely the only store -in Sacramento- that's closing. One is closing here in Phoenix as well (Tempe, specifically), as I discovered on Saturday. I guess the e-mails don't go out until the discounts hit 40%; Tempe Borders' going-away sale just started.

Ahh....but I was thinking if BobHole passed along the erroneous(sp) email that Borders sent out to their entire e-list rather than the Sacto crowd about the Sacto store, then the information was retracted with a follow-up about 20 minutes later.

Sorry to hear that PHX is losing one as well.

I got both emails, the notice of the store closing, than the "oopsies, we didn't mean to send that out to everyone on the Borders customers lists!" email. Sacramento is hours away by airplane from where I am....

Borders is having financial problems - and have for the past year. But this is just a single store for the moment.

I rather like them, though.
