Although I personally feel like this was "Election for Dummies" when you compare the two candidates. I'm a little afraid to go into work today or to call my mother.

(I saw, would you believe, the FOX news map. Colorado went blue, but my county was red and I knew about my office already).

And I am both pleased and surprised that my own optimistic predictions were accurate, for once, and I'm very happy that you were surprised as well.

I also really thought Kerry was going to win in 2004 - and I still do think he won. Me, the eternal optimist. I'm even optimistic about pessimism - the wave of the future.

I'm picturing a crowd of a million people all waving signs saying "Down With Negativity!"
