This morning my TV/alarm clock went off.

My remote control was missing.

The TV was locked on The 700 Club.

I ought to explain my last comment....

My TiVo control is the one that changes the channel. That one was missing. The remote that turns the set on and off (and controls the alarm) was next to me.

The reason it was on that channel was it's the same one on which "The Simpsons" airs (really!).
