Asparagus

For over 15 years a group of us have gotten together on Friday nights to eat hot, spicy food. We call ourselves the Hot Bunch For Dinner, or "HBFD" for short. The group is mostly male, and overall very into food and chemistry. We were discussing, of all odd things, asparagus, and with that in mind, I have two questions:

1. Where you live, what color is the asparagus you usually find in the store?

2. When you eat asparagus, does your urine smell funny?

1. In the Boston area, asparagus is commonly green, although white asparagus is also easy to find without looking too hard.
