No go -- firefox on Linux fails completely. Can't even get / from lh3.google.com; presumably it has some kind of broken browser-detection code.

The only thing that's going to work is downloading the image and putting it someplace else.

Interesting, it doesn't work on Firefox on windows either.

And Safari for Mac gives the same error, which is what I got yesterday (the link someone replied with, however, worked).

...Hmmm -- that was at home, and when I click now (at work) on that link I get a 403. I wonder if there's a firewall issue?

So much for "don't be evil". They've somehow configured a whole server to give non-IE browers a 403.
