I swear I didn't make this up.

Even grosser, this is the Wendy's nearest to KLIV. I have eaten food from there many times.

OTOH, I will be kind and not subject you to the endless puns that have been flowing from me and my co-workers at both jobs all week.

I had seen the story previously (for what seems like a long time in Internet days (g)), but I had avoided looking at it. Since it happened near you, I looked followed your link. Ugh. Although, I grant you that the puns and black humor must have been wonderful. (g)

There was a case from the early part of the 20th century in which a finger was found in a can of tobacco. The court pretty much nailed on the nose when it said that was a good indication someone had been careless.

Sounds like this one might be a fraud, though. The person who "found" the finger has made something of a mini-career out of suing various companies, and an article in the Murky Snooze says authorities have a line on how she might have gotten access to a piece of finger. DNA tests to verify that theory are in progress.
