Spaghetti sauce update

Warren loved the sauce and appreciated "all the effort" I put into it (heh -- I cheated nearly every which way I could!).

He thought the meatballs were wonderful, too. (I bought them with my own two hands.) I let Lady taste a little and she liked it, too.

He even had wine with dinner (an inexpensive Merlot, but slightly swankier than "two buck Chuck").

I think I've done everything I need to do tonight, so I'm going to eat a couple of mini-donuts and go thud for the night. I'm fighting a sinus infection in my left sinus (my upper left jaw hurts when I try to eat or drink much of anything), and it's now causing my ear to hurt (albeit slightly less after the Merlot :-) ).

Ooh, cheating on Spaghetti & Meatballs!

When I was a kid, the house favorite birthday meal request was spaghetti & meatballs. Mon would spend hours preparing it--making the souace mixing and forming the beatballs. Simmering for an indefinite period. The house would fill with the small of garlic. I didn't even know the smell was garlic. All I knew about carlic was from cartoons and comics, where garlic was depicted as a foul bad-breath stench. It was years before I found out that garlic was one of my favorite smells in the world.

But Mom's gone, and we've all gone out separate ways, and only one of my brothers still bothers with the old family recipie on his birthday. But trollhagen just taught me the joys of cheating on Spaghetti&Meatballs in the last few months. I actually do add extra garlic (in the form of garlic powder) to the prefab sauce I use, but now it's just a 20-minute thing. Made some for my brother Bob just last night in exchange for helping to move furniture. Having leftovers with trollhagen this afternoon. Mmm. I'd probably never have my old favorite food again if it weren't for cheating. So let's hear it for cheating!
