Follow the bouncing dog

Lady was extra rambunctious tonight. I realize puppies are supposed to be bouncy, but I have never seen anything like this since I watched piglets at the county fair!

I've always described piglets as being like "puppies on speed," but that was clearly before I saw this one in action! She almost frightened me because she wouldn't calm down no matter how much I tried to soothe her. She just wanted to bounce, bounce, bounce, jump, jump, jump, bark, bark, bark, BARK, bark, bark, OW my ears hurt -- especially the right one, where she barked directly into it.

Don't get me wrong; I love her dearly. Fuzzball was a sedate puppy. I could put Fuzzball next to me and she'd just curl up or lie there like an armrest. This one almost goes schizo on me, and I'm not sure how to deal with her behavior.

OTOH, isn't she cute? That's the first photo I have of her. My friend Diana took it when I was choosing my puppy. I held this one up and they all knew she was going home with me.

Not that I'm suggesting you tranquilize your puppy, but it was a thought that at least made me smile this morning.
