I believe you're the only person I've met in my adult-hood who was a fan of Wonderama. :)
I remember going with my Dad to the new Toy R Us that opened near my childhood home, and standing in a huge line of other kids and their parents, in order to meet Geoffrey ( guy in a big stuffed giraffe outfit) and Bob McAlister. He shook my hand, and kneeled down to say hello. Even at that young age, I thought it was amazing that he took care to actually greet each child, even though there must have been hundreds there. :)
This month, they announced that the Toys R Us in that location is closing permanently. I suppose moving on to better locations or something. It made me sad, as that store has always been there and always reminded me of that cool childhood memory. It will be so weird to drive by there and not see that big store sitting there any longer.
