A new world's record

dimakoi and I went to San Francisco to attend a timeshare presentation, eat free food, and collect $100 in gift certificates to Macy's.
We got there around 7:45pm, and I signed in. I was asked to wave my DL and "a major credit card" in front of them and was given a form to fill out. I turned in the completed form, and then we went foraging. Turns out the so-called "free food" was crappy sandwiches (mystery meat, too much produce, and mayonnaise on all of them), cookies, and soda; the only diet soda was diet Coke, and it was too late for caffeine if we wanted to sleep.
After a few minutes we saw other parties being gathered for presentations. Then a guy called my name and said, "I'm sorry, but we don't have enough hosts to go around, so we won't be able to show you the presentation tonight. You will, however, still be able to collect your gift at the window." It was all we could do to keep from laughing.
We stood in line behind a woman who was equally "upset" at not seeing the 90-minute presentation and "just" collect our gift.
Afterwards we checked the time: 8:02pm. Not bad for 20 minutes, and we had another 2:40 of free validated parking by the Cannery and Fisherman's Wharf!

Date: 2002-11-15 01:14 pm (UTC)They are the folks we bought our TS from.
If you go back, one word of warning, they are trying to sell a vacation club as a timeshare. Don't buy a club, buy a property.
We have a 1/52nd of a room, round the block from the SF Opera. We've traded for Hawaii, Vegas and Xmas in Orlando, with no problems.
