I found it!!! The Safeway near my house had the 20oz bottles for 99 cents/each. Not a great price (I'd have preferred a two-liter bottle for $1.25, but they didn't have any), but I had to try it.

The result? I'm hooked. :-)

If Coke pulls Diet Vanilla Coke off the market, grab a bottle of Torani sugar-free vanilla syrup; it is made with Splenda. Their sugar-free Raspeberry syrup is a wonderful additive to my genericokes.

Heretic.

I tried Vanilla Coke when it was first released. I looked at the lady giving out free samples and said that I thought they destroyed all the stocks of New Coke.

I thought New Coke was still on the market in a handful of metro areas where the stuff sells relatively well. Not that *I* care for the stuff, mind you, but there are a handful of small cities where folks apparently do like it.

What i really want is Coke flavored with real sugar, rather than corn sweetener. Gotta get myself out to Brookline during Passover for that.

Wow, such picky soda people :).

I like Vanilla Coke. I haven't seen diet Vanilla Coke in Canada yet, but I'll try it once it gets here.

Bless you!

I liked Vanilla Coke, but it would be a seldom treat now. Thanks for telling me about the diet Vanilla Coke! A new soda to drink!

I've had Vanilla Coke made at a fountain and I've tried the bottled stuff. The bottled stuff pales beside what you can get at a soda fountain.

What makes you think I don't already have a bottle of sugar-free Torani vanilla sitting in my Torani syrup cabinet (yes, I have such a thing)? :-)

The diet stuff has to be fresh because they're still using Nutra-Sweet, which has a limited shelf life.

You usually can't get the diet variety of vanilla Coke at a soda fountain because they don't tend to keep sugar-free syrup around.

The regular stuff makes me pass out -- something about that "high fructose corn syrup" in it.

I think some places just use a drop or two of vanilla extract, actually.

(Homer) Mmmmm... high fructose corn syrup... (/Homer)
