Dysons Good: no bag to get full no bag to clog up with dust so the vacuum pressure drops off cool design (so men like using them!) particularly the uprights with the "wand" in the handle
Bad: you end up with a container of loose dust, carpet fluff, animal hair and whatever else you vacuumed up (dead bugs, raisins, mouse poo, screws, hard disk jumpers etc.) and when you go to dump it in the trash you end up filling the air (that you want to breathe) with a cloud of dust and leave a small film of dust particles on everything in the vicinity (unless you're ridiculously careful, which most people just can't manage) Moderately expensive compared with other models. And for those of us who live in the UK where it was invented and originally made, we're a little annoyed that recently he announced he was closing the UK manufacturing plant and moving manufacture to some cheaper Asian country.
I have a "fake" mini-dyson (another bagless cleaner by some other manufacturer) and I'm happy with it though it does have the "cloud of dust" (but no "mighty hi-ho silver and away") problem. Still it's better than finding that the cleaner you bought last year uses a bag size that no one sells anymore (as my previous one did).
