You get to judge which is more frightening

I made NPR!

If you click the link on the page to listen to the article you can hear me singing part of "The Hawaiian Wind Breaker Song" (she never bothered to ask me for the title when she wrote the caption) about one-third of the way through.

...and you got your picture on the web site.

Well, it isn't the cover of the Rolling Stone, but, hey.

These so-called "filkers" ...

So-called? Rather odd wording by whomever did the text, that's not what was broadcast. At least they got your name correct.

Congratulations, and a photo at the top of the article yet!

And you were heard

By a non-filking musician friend of ours. We actually admitted knowing you. ;-)

The scary part is now that song has to go on the upcoming CD (I was going to hold it for the next one). I need to find a soprano to do the descant that goes with it.

By coincidence, the friend that heard you is a very good soprano, with a sense of humor. We could always ask (but probably not until you send word that you'd be interested)

How about Maya?

When last I checked, Maya was an alto. I know the kind of voice I want; the problem is going to be getting someone warped enough to do it ([livejournal.com profile] cflute, are you bribeable?).

Lynn, Maya has several octaves of range. she prefers Alto because it is "more interesting." But I remember Shannon McGuire declaring her Alpha Suprano.
However, the friend who reported hearing you on the radio is dedfinatavly (sp) a suprano and most certainly warped. She thought the song was hilarious & could probably be convinced to rercord it with you.
Should we ask her?

Wow, congratulations, Lynn! I wish I'd heard it on the radio instead of on RealAudio, but I'm not always able to listen to Day to Day because of my schedule. It probably would have made me scream if I had, though!

Cool! Welcome to the conspiracy of filkers taking over public radio.
