I'm an attendee. I don't give a gnat's ass who owns the hotel. I'm just there to have a good time. I shouldn't be noticing things like major hotel screwups.

What I find ironic is your insistence on blaming Convention staff for Doubletree screw-ups.

As for the hotel liaison, I feel he got put in a potential "scapegoat" kind of position because the hotel apparently pulled some "fast ones," sticking this poor guy with the blame for it. I got an earful about the situation Sunday night from folks working the con who were hanging out in the con suite. I was told he was thrown in, unexperienced, and expected to perform like a seasoned pro. That Doesn't Happen.

Rofl, that does happen, and you got a skewed earful, shame on you for being eager to believe every negative thing you heard. It's like you're rejoicing in the complaining.

In the past 12 cons I've helped run, Hotel _always_ screws stuff up, why? Because their operating as event staff, a convention always seems to take them by surprise. And they always point fingers back to Hotel Liason which is just the way it is, staff knows it and expects it. We do what we can to alleviate it, but the damn event/banquet managers come in and out like a revolving door.
