Just reporting the news

For those of you who missed Michael Moore's acceptance speech (for Bowling for Columbine):

On behalf of our producers Kathleen Glynn and Michael Donovan from Canada, I'd like to thank the Academy for this.

I have invited my fellow documentary nominees on the stage with us, and we would like to Ñ they're here in solidarity with me because we like nonfiction.

We like nonfiction and we live in fictitious times.

We live in the time where we have fictitious election results that elects a fictitious president.

We live in a time where we have a man sending us to war for fictitious reasons.

Whether it's the fictition of duct tape or fictition of orange alerts we are against this war, Mr. Bush.

Shame on you, Mr. Bush, shame on you.

And any time you got the Pope and the Dixie Chicks against you, your time is up.

Thank you very much.

Bravo Mr. Moore

For those of you who haven't seen it, go see Bowling for Columbine it speaks to the heart of the national paranoia that the United States is part of.

Also try to look at Mr. Moore's "Stupid White Men" for the details on the depths to which the Bush political machine sank to elect Mr. W. He wasn't kidding about the fictitious election results.

Is "Stupid White Men" a book or a movie?

A book, in paperback yet. Certainly in all the bookstores I've seen in England. Don't know if Nightwatch aka the Ministry of Homeland Insecurity has classified it as 'subversive' in the U.S.?

Its a best selling book available at all major bookstores on how Bush and his cronies are screwing up America.

Included are several open letters including one to Pres. Bush asking him (and citing evidcence) if he is a functioning illiterate, an alcoholic and more.

Great read

I went to see if the Mountain View Library has it. Given the political leanings up here, the library has eight copies of it and five "holds" on "the first copy to come back."
