I just remembered why I don't do noon exercise classes

In two words: Insulin Shock.

It snuck up on me, but WHAM! I suddenly had to sleep, but it wasn't a full sleep; more of an "I'm conscious, but my body won't do anything and I need to wait this out" sleep.

As I started coming out of it I fumbled for food by the bed. Darn. Warren keeps clearing it away because he thinks it's disgusting to have food by the bed (hey, I do keep it sealed!). I finally find a package of dietetic cookies I'd hidden under my bedstand precisely for this reason. I ate four; they tasted ucky, but after about 15 or 20 minutes I'm functional again.

insulin shock can be very nasty. Would it make sense to get some of the individually wrapped power-bars or protein bars near your bed? Perhaps in a decorative box so Warren thinks of it as a jewelry box and doesn't notice the food? The Powerbars don't taste great but will do the trick.

*hugs*

The regular PowerBars are nasty, as they contain corn syrup. The PowerBar Prias, however, are a godsend.

The box is a good idea. I could implement something now and then get something nicer at Consonance (one of our regular dealers sells really pretty boxes). I always have a supply of Prias and Luna Bars and others of that ilk.
