good Indian buffets are hard to find.

However, I'd've figured you'd do something similar to what used to be done in Los Angeles (after I moved, of course) - an "Evening of King Pao Comedy," where you do Chinese food and then, instead of the comedian/comedienne, go to a movie.

I had considered volunteering for the Kung Pao Comedy shows in SF (I'm on the San Francisco Comedians' mailing list, and Lisa Geduldig, who organizes it, sent out email in October), which would've gotten me in for free, but there were a few problems:

• I work until 7pm at KLIV in San Jose. Going between San Jose and SF in an hour is dicey, especially when the highway is swarming with extra CHP cars.
• My speech tends to be a bit on the slurred side these days after a radio shift because of the broken jaw injury, and I'm on the air until 7pm that day.
• I saw the menu (you don't choose your food), and at least one of the main food items contained mushrooms.
• I work at KLIV the next day, so I don't want to be out too late.
