Are you perhaps talking about the (tackiest) card that has "America the Beautiful", snow, an angel hoisting the baby Jesus, and a Christmas tree?

On behalf of my people, I apologize.
Is American Greetings up for a boycott?

Some things are still safe?

I checked the e-card page, no tacky is not an adequate word for some of those. I noticed that American Greetings had, for our convenience, placed a calendar of "special days" coming in October. I was not aware that people passed around cards to celebrate Ghandi's birthday. (And what music would they play?)

But at least the Birth of the Bab, a very important Baha'i holy day, wasn't there.

Thank you Lynn, all of this has brightened up an otherwise wonderful day.

Quote:
Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the most solemn day of the Jewish year and is observed on the tenth day of Tishri. It is a day of fasting, reflection and prayers. Make this day all the more special with our carefully selected yom kippur recipes, yom kippur greetings, egreetings and ecards.

In the words of Will Rogers: Sometimes all ya gotta do is quote 'em.

Talk about people being Unclear On the Concept...! "You, the dumbass that came up with this recipe book idea! What part of 'day of fasting' didn't you get?!"

Maybe the soundtrack to some obscure Bollywood movie? [g,d,rlh]

You know what the sad thing is? Somebody probably asked them for this shit.

I personally am ready to place the blame on Jews for Jesus, who are always fucking around with Jewish holidays.

I am looking forward to "preying in synagogue" before pinata time.

Plastic Jesus,
Plastic Jesus,
Yom Kippur has never been such fun.
Got a set of E-card coming,
Games and food and parties humming,
In the car and let's go for a run!

Please Lynn stop your killing me here!

also RE: recipe book.
We do get to eat after sundown. So a book of recipes isn't too odd.

My dad summed up Jewish holidays this way. “There are two types of holidays, one: long ago someone tried to kill us, we won, lets eat. And two: long ago someone tried to kill us, they won, lets eat.”

you know Lynn, Yom Kippur JEOPARDY isn't a bad idea if you made all the questions (or answers since is jeopardy) about the torah or at least themed to Yom Kippur.

“yes I’ll take wrongs I have done to my friends for 100 Alex."

Please note: its 2:30 AM, I can’t sleep, but right now that seems like a good idea. I may not be able to recapture this logic in the morning.

The Samhain ones from that last site aren't particularly appropos either, with the exception of "Thinking of you at Samhain"... only how am I supposed to send this card to the afterlife?

Simple

You write out the pretty card, and burn it. (You could compost, but that would be pretty slow to get there.)
