RIP: Cynthia McQuillin 7/25/53-1/14/06

It is with much sadness that I report Cindy passed away this morning at Kaiser Hospital in Hayward. Dr. James says she died peacefully in her sleep.

The cause of death is renal and respiratory failure.

She was 52.

In lieu of a funeral, Cindy wanted to have a memorial filk. This will likely be done at Consonance.

I met Cindy in 1993 when she and James were guest at Arisia. I cannot claim that she was a close friend. From the little I saw, she was a lovely person.

I had the good fortune to record with her just once -- I hope she's raising her voice to whatever heavenly choir she finds and joins.

Oh my. I have known Cindy half my life. I remember the first time I met her and she was so encouraging to me to pursue a career in music. I also remember when I walked up to her to sign a CD and she laughed and said you are my friend and I won't sign it because you know me!!! We had a nice laugh. Please pass my condolonces on to Dr. James.
