Am I the only one who notices a resemblance?

Sorry, but to me he looks more like Darth Vader In Hiding.

Lovely icon. :)

[livejournal.com profile] metaphorge created an animated gift that morphs between Ratzinger (when he was) and Palpatine.

Lovely icon.

Mine, or the one I refer to? The latter being an animated gif that morphs as you describe, I wonder if it's the one you're thinking of. And if so, thank you for the attribution (I saw it on my friendsfriends list at an appropriate time to respond here). And if the former, thank ou; I created it myself. (Yes, it means stuff; specifically, it indicates that I am a polyamorous filker, combining as it does the infinity of hearts and the dandelion.)

Sigh. I still think he looks more like Darth Vader In Hiding.

Nah. He looks too healthy to be Anakin. Not to mention that the parallel with Palpatine's position is WAY too good to pass up. (And he spends so much time with his hand or hands in the air, one must wonder if it's just not a natural extension of the energy-bolt throwing he does :-)

I see from today's paper that a daily paper last week (The Sun - what else?) had a headline "From Hitler Youth to Papa Ratzi". That's how I'm going to be thinking of him for ever now. Papa Ratzi....hahaha!
