Two deaths in two days

First Frank Kelly Freas dies. Sad, but not totally unexpected.

Now I just found out longtime LA Fan and conrunner Michael Mason is dead. This is a major shocker. The guy was only 42 -- half Kelly's age.

Now it's time to get scared. Mom always says bad things happen in threes.

Unfortunately, I'm told that Jack Chalker's health, not good lately, has just taken a turn for the worse, as well. I have sent good thoughts that way, and perhaps you might wish to, also. But that's the third likely situation I know of :-(

Uck; you're right. I've been thinking good thoughts for Jack for a while.

The latest on him is he's currently at the University of Maryland Medical Center ICU. Eva Whitley (his wife) would appreciate it if Baltimore-area people could visit him once he's off sedation.

Yow. I just heard that we've lost Will Eisner.

Maybe if we pray hard, we can keep the bad things to threes. Or would the three only apply to the pros? :-(

I haven't seen the threes really be provable, anyway. People will justify the meme by counting deaths that take place a week apart.

Maybe that was the third, and now we can relax.

Will Eisner was 87. Jack Chalker just turned 60. That's a big difference.
