Well THAT was discouraging

I woke up and did my usual job search stuff. This time I found a few jobs for which I hadn't applied and did so. In one case there was a job where the requirements matched my resume and there was a phone number attached, so I called it.

The woman said it was unlikely my resume would be forwarded to the client because they'd already sent three, and because I didn't have any wireless experience (it didn't ask for it in the description!). She said they'd already sorted through thousands of resumes. Ugh.

I wish companies would post all their requirements so I wouldn't waste my time applying for jobs for which I'm not "qualified."

Lot of that going around, alas. Nicolai's been dealing with the idiots who haven't a clue as to where anything is in California and seem to think he'd just love to commute from Marina del Rey to Irvine every day. (And no, we're not going to blow significant quantities of money to move down there, only to have to do it again in a few years when the job or the company goes blooey. If, that is, I were willing to live in Irvine in the first place which is Not the Case... :->) I'm just glad we've got enough saved that he can take his time and find a good one.

That kind of arrangement could work IFF they'd be willing to let him telecommute.

I'm considering applying for a job in Alameda (same type of commute) IFF I can get that kind of a deal.
