Last night at Rooster's
In a nutshell: I came. I went on stage. They laughed.
I stuck to my radio material. (Hey -- it works.) They howled when I did my "gotta go to the bathroom dance" while doing a weather report for a classical station in a calm, relaxed voice while making wincing faces.
Since the shows kind of melded together,
dimakoi and I stuck around for The Stand-Up Project and SPF7. We laughed. She almost threw out her back during the SPF7 performance.
I felt really bad for SPF7, now the SFCC's Official Improv Troupe. They started out in Florida, and the members only moved here a couple of weeks ago. They had an audience of two "regular" people, one of whom was
dimakoi, and whatever comedians were left. The troupe deserved a bigger audience, but alas, because they were on so late and on a weeknight, they didn't have one. According to their schedule they'll be performing at Pier 39 for free a bunch of times, so if you're in the area, do catch them.
